Using and Sharing Our Free Teaching Resources

Our original teaching materials are free to use with your students. This page explains how to use, adapt and share them. Follow any specific use notice or separate credit included in a download.

Use them in your own teaching

You may download and print our original resources, use them in paid or unpaid lessons, and adapt them for your own learners. You may share the relevant student pages privately with your students, including in an online class or a private class learning space.

Keep the credit and share the link

Please keep the How to English with Gav & Em credit on our materials and on adaptations. When recommending a resource to other teachers, share its page on this website so they can find the current files and teaching notes.

Ask before selling or republishing

Commercial resale, public republication and uploading our files to public resource collections require our permission. Contact Gav & Em if you would like to republish a resource, include it in a product or discuss another use.

Check separate credits and classroom instructions

Our permission covers our original material. Third-party photographs, extracts and other credited material may have separate conditions; check the credit and source. Keep teacher answers, transcripts and private role cards separate where the lesson instructions require it.
