What do students do?

Start with two meeting pictures, then use a short grammar guide and focused gap-fill practice. Build sentences from six illustrated situations and respond to a partner. Finally, share six private role cards to agree a time, room, costs and a backup plan for a client demonstration.

The meeting task works with 2–6 learners or one-to-one. Teacher notes explain how to divide the cards and use them online. The lesson ends with speaking questions; optional homework includes an independent written reply, a spoken explanation and a self-check key.

Language focus

First conditional: “If the supplier agrees, we’ll place an order.” Second conditional: “If we had more money, we’d hire an assistant.” The grammar guide explains why the past form here does not refer to past time. No recording is required.
