What do students do?
Discuss time pressure, use the phrase guide to interpret four messages, and distinguish time-sensitive from time-consuming tasks. Partners privately choose activities, then negotiate a schedule that fits between 14:00 and 18:00.
Language focus
Take your time, be pressed for time, have time on your hands, buy time, bide your time and make up for lost time. Buy time means gaining a delay; bide your time means waiting for an opportunity.
Class setup, online and one-to-one
Keep initial activity choices private. Both partners must respect the fixed parcel collection and agree a genuine compromise. In one-to-one teaching, take the partner role.
