What do students do?

Discuss the illustrated genres and check film vocabulary. Complete the model pitch, then plan a film in pairs or threes. Everyone speaks during the pitch. Producers introduce a twist, ask a question and vote with reasons.

Language focus

Cast, plot, soundtrack, sequel, script, subtitles, review and special effects; is based on, is set in, was shot in and stars. Distinguish the story setting from the filming location.

Class setup, online and one-to-one

Use pairs or groups of three, with other teams acting as producers. One-to-one, take turns as film team and producer and pitch an improved version. Film-inspired illustrations are AI-generated, not official stills.
